If you haven’t noticed already, Americans LOVE Fall!

You might be thinking, “How can someone get so excited about a season?” But, here we are! While it may seem strange to you, this is a great time to get to know American culture and connect with your American friends. As you are in the midst of your festival season, Americans are also in a festive spirit - it just looks a lot different.

Fall is an important time in America because it represents the harvest season when crops are picked after growing all year round. With the changing of leaves from green to bright yellows, oranges, and reds, Fall also represents a season of change and new beginnings. There certainly has been a commercialization element to all of this and lots of people go above and beyond.

I’d encourage you to step out of your comfort zone and try something new. Along the journey, you'll connect with great people, make new friends, and of course, get some memorable photos!

🍂 Here are 10 FUN FALL ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO WITH YOUR FRIENDS!

1) Drink a Pumpkin Spice Latte Together ☕

Head to your local coffee shop and grab a Pumpkin Spice Latte with friends. Fall is the only time of year when these drinks are available, so take advantage of it while you can! If you don’t like coffee, no worries - most places also offer a wide range of teas and hot chocolates that can also be made with pumpkin spice flavor.

2) Go on a Hayride 🚜

This is a Fall classic! Head to a local farm and go on a hayride together. This is a great way to take in the Fall scenery and get into the Fall spirit. Many local farms also have lots of fun activities like corn mazes, apple picking, and pumpkin patches. Keep reading to find out more!

3) Get lost in a Corn Maze 🌽

Another Fall classic! Visit a local corn maze and get lost with your friends. Put your friend group's teamwork abilities to the test. Or, if you’re feeling competitive, you can race to see who can make it through the maze first!

4) Pick Some Apples 🍎

Sure, you could go to the store to buy apples, but that's boring! Head to a local farm and pick some apples together. Farms will also have a wide variety of different types of apples and there are a ton of varieties. Try them out and find the one you like the best!

5) Go to a Pumpkin Patch 🎃

Pumpkin patches are a great place to take Fall photos with your friends. You can also pick out pumpkins together to carve (or bake with if you're feeling brave)! One of my family's favorite spots in Dallas is the Dallas Arboretum - it's the perfect place for memorable photos.

6) Go Trick-or-Treating on Halloween 👻

Trick-or-treating is a memorable activity for kids in America. Children dress up in costumes and go door to door to collect tons of sweets and candy - but it's not just for kids. Adults definitely love to get in the action!

7) Attend a Football Game 🏈

Attending a football game in the Fall is the ultimate college student experience. Support your school's team, make new friends, and get a little taste of home with a ton of people all in one place. Americans also just love sports and it's easy thing to talk about with anyone.

8) Go to a Fall Festival 🎊

Almost every town in America will have some kind of Fall festival where stores open their doors to the community and vendors offer unique food and drinks. This is a great activity to do if you want to have some cheap fun while exploring your town.

9) Go Camping 🏕️

Camping is a great way to experience nature and get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life - this would be a great way to relax especially after a busy midterm season. Depending on where you are in America, being in nature and the cooler weather will provide the scenery you need to relax and rejuvenate.

10) Make S’mores by the Bonfire 🔥

Making s’mores is a beloved Fall tradition in America. Perhaps your American friend has a backyard perfect for a bonfire. Invite your friends over to make s’mores and enjoy under the Fall night sky.

These 10 fun Fall activities will give you a great opportunity to bond with your friends and create some Fall memories for a lifetime! Keep in mind that every city and town is different and where you are may have some special activities and treats that are local to the area. Be sure to take advantage of those.

Which Fall activity are you looking forward to doing with your friends?
