As international students navigating the United States, this holiday season presents an excellent opportunity to dive into the rich cultural experiences surrounding you. Whether it's your first holiday season in America or a familiar celebration, I'm excited to share with you a plethora of activities that will make this break unforgettable.

Before we dive into all the things you can do during this break, I encourage you to make the decision that you will venture beyond your comfort zone. Attend networking events, both formal and informal, to connect with Americans, and engage with diverse communities to not only broaden your perspectives but also nurture meaningful connections that could last a lifetime.

That being said, I know some of you will want to utilize this time to work on certifications that can enhance your skill set. Winter break provides an ideal window to dedicate focused attention to these qualifications, enriching your resume and strengthening your professional profile, but don’t let that eat away all your time. There is plenty of time to do both!

Consider driving through neighborhoods adorned with twinkling Christmas lights with a cup of hot cocoa, attending any on or off-campus live performances, or shopping at local Christmas markets.

If you're in a region blessed with snow, embrace the winter wonderland! Engage in classic American outdoor snow sports like skiing, snowboarding, or simply enjoying a snowball fight with friends. Embrace the thrill of these activities and create stories you'll fondly remember.

If you’re not in a snowy region, consider embarking on a road trip to experience one of the top destinations that encapsulate the essence of Christmas in the US. Traveling with friends can be an adventure in itself!
